William Salter plnated his first vines in the Barossa in 1859 and subsequently kept a meticulous journal to record his entire vineyard and winemaking activities. This included the techniques that are still employed today to make Saltram's many trademark wines. The Journal Shiraz is a tribute to Salter's attention to detail and his quest to make the best Shiraz under the Saltram name.
